You have not been left in the cold!!

"I have not received a welcoming letter from the ZS-Link Network Team although I used the network before.  Why?"

Yesterday several welcoming letters were send to radio amateurs who have used the linked network lately and in the past.  We thought that it would be a nice touch to welcome radio amateurs using the network.  At the same time we also provided general tips for trouble free use of the network.

If you used the network before and did not received a welcoming letter, please do not think that we left you in the cold or that there is a obscure reason that you did not receive a welcoming letter.  There could be several reasons why you have not received a welcoming letter:

  • Your personal information (email, contact information) on the SARL Call Book or QRZ.com is not up to date.  Please ensure that your particulars is up to date with current contact information as we use the above as the contact source to send out welcoming letters.
  • You callsign did not appear on the AllStar Log file as you might have connected to another link or repeater that does not log connection information.
  • Your call sign was not picked up by a Network Control Operator and forwarded to the ZS-Link Network Team.

No, we do not want to leave any radio amateur in the cold.  If you have not received a welcoming letter please keep on using the network as before.  The letter is not your passport to use the network.  Every single radio amateur is more than welcome to use the network whether he received a letter or not.  I am sure that if your personal details is up to date and you use the network regularly you will receive a welcoming letter once your callsign has been logged or spotted by a Network Control Operator.

Finally:  If your personal particulars is not up to date, please contact  The ZS-Link Network with your latest email information so that we can list you on our database and to forward a welcoming letter to you.  As indicated many times before we have no preferences who are allowed to use or not to use the ZS-Link Network.  Furthermore this network is not used for a specific group or service.  It is open to any radio amateur who would like to use the network.  We are looking forward to hear and talk with you on the ZS-Link Network!!
