THE WEEKLY NSN NET:
The "Net Sonder Naam" Net now meets every Sunday afternoon 10 minutes after the "Bo Karoo Amateur Radio Klub" bulletin. The NSN-Net typically runs around hour and a half in length depending on how large the net is and how many topics there are for discussion. This Net is not a Club Activity!! It is constituted by interested radio amateurs in South Africa and even Worldwide and is open to all radio amateurs.
ABOUT THE NET:
The preferred languages will be English and Afrikaans. You use the language of your preference. The net provides a forum for participants to discuss amateur radio topics, ask amateur radio related questions, and to receive advice, information, and guidance from the pool of knowledge and experience of the net participants. The net is open to all amateurs worldwide and we encourage your participation. We hope you have a little time on Thursday evenings to report in and say hello.
ORDER OF THE NET:
The following is the order of segments of the NSN - Net : Rapport in, Welcoming, Apologies, Announcements, Radio amateurs new to the Net, Weekly topic, "Rondomtalie"/Round Robin, Date and time of next NSN - Net and Closure.
WEEKLY TOPIC:
Every week we choose a topic question and ask it to each participant.
If you have an amateur radio related topic or survey question that you'd
like the net participants to discuss, we'd love to get your suggestions
and input. Please email your topic suggestions by clicking HERE. If you
prefer that your name/call not be used when we pose your topic to the net,
please state so in your email and we'd be glad to respect your privacy.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
This weeks question might be seen as controversial but it is far from it. In the list above is some of my dear amateur radio friends for many years that went SK. I am sure that many if not all of the above would have agreed that amateur radio must continue its legacy and that those left behind must take the reigns and lead from the front to keep amateur radio alive and vibrant.
Please take a minute to read through the following sub-questions and suggestions.
The following questions are currently unanswered. Hopefully some of the questions might set your brain into the thinking and creative mode and you can share your ideas on the net:
- Should we be alarmed by the many SK's compared to the new influx of radio amateurs?
- How will we replace the experience and knowledge lost as a result of those who went SK?
- How do we replace the friendship lost?
- Amateur Radio activity declined as a result?
- Clubs and SARL lost faithful members as a result?
- Will there be as much RAE candidates to fill the shoes of those who became SK?
- What need we do to ensure that the proud legacy of amateur radio lives on?
It is not always good to just ask questions and talk about some issues in amateur radio. We need to come up with solutions, new ideas and then implement measures to stay relevant and in the fore ground in amateur radio.
Join us on the NSN Net were we will hopefully come up with solutions, new ideas that can be implemented to ensure a brighter future for amateur radio despite having lost so many of our good amateur radio friends. What is very important is that we hear your opinion, suggestions and ideas in this regard.
The question: What did you do in amateur radio this week? / Wat het jy die afgelope week in Amateur Radio gedoen?
Tell us about your ventures in amateur radio this past week.
