It is great to experience real amateur radio spirit in the difficult times we live in as a result of the pandemic. I have been using a wide variety of repeaters, hubs, networks etc. these past few weeks. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the following radio amateurs, clubs and organizations:
- The SARL
- The Pretoria Amateur Radio Club, Hans ZS6KR and Johan Lehmann ZS6JPL
- Amateur Radio Today - Hans ZS6AKV
- All overseas radio amateurs, clubs and organizations, to many to mention here. You can view the list HERE.
As can be seen there is quite a few stations that are linked to the Garden Route Hub Network at different times of the day. What is not shown here is the amount of stations, hubs, repeaters and links that are linked to a Network at any time. Now what is the big deal here? Amongst literally 100's of stations, I was surprised to receive a Welcome Letter from the US. I am not going to go into detail as the letter is self explanatory. No I did not apply for membership or use of the system. I only connected to the East Coast Reflector.

This shows that the Amateur Radio Spirit is alive and well and it reflects the friendliness that we can all share in the hobby. Maybe this post will contribute in making others think on how they can contribute to true hospitality in welcoming fellow radio amateur radio in their midst.
