UPDATE: The GRHub Radio RF Antenna for 2m and 70cm has arrived!!

The original article is available HERE.

The antenna is up in the air.  Installation went without a hitch.  It looks great on the mast and thus far I am very satisfied with this antenna.  My first press of the PTT and calling on the 145.650 Riversdale Repeater revealed that this antenna means "business".  I have used several homebrew 2m and 70cm antennas in the past and must admit that this antenna "kick dust into the eyes" of them all except for the 5 element Yagi that I home-brewed.    However this is not a fair comparison.

Specs by the manufacturer claim a 4.5 dB gain on 144 - 148 Mhz and 7.2 dB on 435 - 450 Mhz.  A VSWR of less than 1.5:1 is indicated on paper but what is the SWR on say 145.550 Mhz.  On my installation I get a VSWR of 1.2:1 on the said frequency and I am more than satisfied that this antenna is a great performer.

Before I use this antenna on the GRHub link network, I need to install the thermal cooling fan controller on the Motorola radio that I will be using for the simplex link.  I hope to do this before 6 September 2021.  A few setting changes must also be made to the ZS1I AllStar Simplex Node. (49355)  Once this has been done I can re-connect the 2m RF Link to the GRHub Network.

Herewith a few images of the SWR and installed antenna:
